Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire.

If you are an experienced System Administration, Support Engineer or a Technical Consultant, with over 7 years experience of working with NetBackup this role could be for you.

Stone Ram is a young, vibrant Software Development Company that Specializes in Recovery, Assessment and Migration tools and methodologies for Enterprise Data Protection applications. We provide Tools and Support services to partners globally from our UK based office, and provide remote and on site services across EMEA.

Main Duties and responsiblities

  • Performing backup migrations, either in person at a customers location(s) or remotely from our offices in Northamptonshire.

  • Providing technical support to partner consultants, around the globe when performing backup migrations using the tools and methodologies we have created.

  • Liaises with both internal (developers) and external (customers) in order to clarify requirements, that define the scope of backup assessment and migration engagements.

  • Undertake proof of concept/feasibility studies for migrations to justify the costs and benefits, and to presents proposals to customers;

  • Communicate the impact of emerging technologies to clients and advises upon the potential introduction of such technology, with an emphasis on how our products can help them realise the potential.

  • Examine existing backup technologies and their ability to meed business requirements

  • Performing backup environment assessments and reviewing assessments for our customers, partners, and our own Migration Specialists team

  • Provide knowledge and product specific, technical expertise to assist the development team, assisting with building and testing of the environments used for QA testing.

  • Flexible Working hours to suite personal requirements but also those of the company and our customers.

  • Willing to provide “On-Call” cover to support our global partners.

Requirements.

  • Experience and the ability to demonstrate that you can design, install, upgrade, troubleshoot and assess NetBackup environments. (at least 7 years experience as you need to fully understand how the product has evolved over the years, as you will be working with a lot of ageing environments as well as current technologies.)

  • Experience in scripting using one of the following (PowerShell, Perl, Python, Shell (bash, csh, sh etc))

  • Happy to interact and deal with customers, via phone, email or face to face meetings..

  • Excellent communication skills, logical thinker and problem solving skils.

  • Experience of working with and troubleshooting Relational Databases, Email Servers, SAN, NAS, Visualisation Technologies, and how to configure them for backups and disaster recovery

  • Educated to Degree Level..
