MigrateAssess has now been incorporated into the Tranzman Appliance.  The online portal is now used as a self-serive portal to request enablement codes.

The Tranzman appliance has assessment functionality built in to help ensure that all transitions are delivered in a smooth and predictable way.

The assessment functionality of tranzman can also be used to assists in the site survey and planning phases of Catman projects.

Before migrating backup data, all pre-existing issues and limitations need to be identified and highlighted.  The Tranzman Assessment  takes our many years of experience in performing catalog migrations and the issues and observations we have found.  It tests and compares the origin and destination environments to help identify any problems that would prevent the successful migrations.

Tranzman reduces the time required to carry out an assessment, while providing a more in-depth and detailed report. It helps to secure successful migrations by identifying all known issues that must be resolved before a catalog migration.

In addition to the assessment, it also uses detailed timings taken, and helps to provides estimated times for the various steps of a migration.

Using the MigrateAssess portal, you can request enablement codes.  (This is only required for assessing Catman Data).

The assessment reports:

  • identify all limitations relevant to the environments
  • highlight issues that need to be resolved prior to the migration
  • capture the current status of all policies (including storage life cycle) for the environments being assessed
  • record the status of the backups running in the environments.

The report outlines the steps you need to take before, during and after catalog manipulation, along with estimated timings to help you plan and set expectations.
