Recovering data from media without the original backup product or its catalog is performed by using the same readers used by the Backup Data Conversion.  The Tranzman Appliance is able to read the legacy media, creating a catlaog of the files on it and allowing those files to be recovered either to a CIFS share, or converted into NetBackup images.
